Technical Requirements for Coverage Under Managed Service Agreement

Windows Desktops and Laptops:

  1. Hardware:
    1. CPU Speeds: 1 GHz or faster, 64-bit, with 4+ cores on a compatible CPU or SoC
    2. CPU Generation Intel 8th Gen or newer, AMD Ryzen 2000 or newer (for existing PCs)
    3. RAM: 16 GB minimum, 32 GB recommended
    4. Storage: Regardless of drive size, a minimum of 50 GB or 10% of the drive size, whichever is greater, free space on each drive.
    5. Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0
    6. Regardless of specifications, Desktops should be no older than 7 years old, and Laptops should be no older than 5 years old.
  2. Operating System must be running a licensed Microsoft supported pro or enterprise version of Windows, As of October 2025 that is Windows 11 version 24H2.

Apple Desktops and Laptops:

  1. Hardware:
    • CPU Generation: Intel 8th Gen or newer, or Apple Silicon M1 or newer
    • RAM: 16 GB minimum 32 GB recommended
    • Storage: Regardless of drive size, a minimum of 50 GB or 10% of the drive size, whichever is greater, free space on each drive.
  2. Must be running the currently supported version of macOS, as of October 2025 that is MacOS Sequoia
  3. Apple ID Must be managed with Apple Business Manager
  4. Must be enrolled in MDM

Applications: All applications must be licensed and still supported by their respective manufacturers and developers on current versions of the operating system.

Document Printers:

  1. If used by more than one person or over the network, the printer must be connected to the network via wired ethernet. Wireless printing is not supported.
  2. Must have currently supported drivers.
  3. All large format and specialty printers are only supported for network connectivity provided they are maintained under a service contract from another provider. WTI has a trusted partner for printer service that we can recommend if needed.

Peripherals:

All other peripherals, such as scanners, keyboards, mice, cameras, etc. must have current drivers supported by the manufacturer or the operating system.

Servers:

  1. Regardless of specifications, hardware should be no older than 10 years old
  2. All Servers will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to ensure hardware meets the minimum requirements of the applications they are hosting.
  3. Hypervisors:
    1. Must have current subscription support licenses and meet the requirements of the provider.
    2. Must have an out of band management access / remote KVM system.
  4. Windows Servers:
    1. RAM: 32 GB Minimum.
    2. Storage:
      1. OS Drive with 128 GB Minimum
      2. A minimum of 50 GB or 20% of the drive size, whichever is greater, free space on each logical drive.
    3. Operating System: must be running a licensed Microsoft supported version of Windows Server.
  5. Linux Servers:
    1. RAM: 16 GB Minimum.
    2. Storage:
      1. OS Drive with 128 GB Minimum
      2. A minimum of 50 GB or 20% of the drive size, whichever is greater, free space on each logical drive.
    3. Operating System: must be running a licensed and supported distribution of Linux OS with a current software support subscription.

Network Infrastructure:

  1. All Firewalls, Switches and Wireless Access points must be capable of remote management via Cisco Meraki, Datto, or Ubiquiti/Unifi dashboards.
    1. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for switches other than the manufacturers listed above, or with 8 or fewer ports. In which case the device must be manageable via SNMP.
    2. If all existing infrastructure is remotely managed by a single manufacturer dashboard other than those listed above, exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
  2. All hardware must be currently supported by the manufacturer lifecycle.
  3. Internet service provider equipment is not supported by WTI.

Other Devices:

Network Video Recorders, or NVR’s (Various based upon manufacturer), Storage Area network, Network attached storage devices, etc.

  1. Must be within manufacture warranty with current support subscription agreements in place with the manufacturer or developer.
  2. Must have current software / drivers installed.

Software:

  1. Must be licensed for business use.
  2. Base office applications must be supported by the manufacturer.
  3. Specialty software must be supported by an active support contract with the manufacturer. (Accounting, CAD, Design, Intuit, Microsoft, etc.)
